About our School

Broadfield East Infant School and Nursery has 9 classes, three classes in each year group, as well as an attached 26 place morning and afternoon nursery. Our pupil numbers for each year group is 90 which means there are up to 30 children in each class. We share our site with our partner school, Broadfield East Junior School, and although we work closely together, we have separate buildings and play areas.

We are fortunate in having a great outdoor space which includes a conservation area and running track on our field. Our Nursery children particularly enjoy their weekly forest school learning where they are always keen to explore the seasons and find out what Mr Oakie (the tree) has been up to!

Our building is open planned and the three classes in each year group enjoy a shared area which is used for a variety of learning opportunities. Our school houses a multi - functional hall, library, cooking area, ICT suite, sensory room and a community room. The community room is used by staff for small group work, family learning and our Fun Club.

Our Fun Club offers before and after school care. Children can attend once they are in school full time and we also offer the Club to our partner junior school as well as three spaces for children attending another local school, Seymour Primary.  Please click here for a Registration Form if you would like to apply for a place.

Our Nursery and Reception children share a large secure outdoor space. The Early Years Curriculum allows for children to access their learning both indoors and outdoors and staff therefore ensure that the provision both inside and outside supports learning across all curriculum areas.
